Increase your Psychic Intuitive Abilities Part three

Updated: Jan 19

What are your talents?

There are many psychic intuitive skills and talents. Understanding your skills can help you develop your psychic techniques. I will explain some ways that people use their psychic skills here and notice what draws your attention.

The Clairs.

The root of the word clairvoyant is clair, which can be associated with ‘clear’ or with “giving light, shining or luminous” says the Etymology Dictionary. This is a great description of the clairs- clairvoyant, clairsentient, clairaudient etc. I think of the clairs as a ways of seeing, knowing or hearing information that is available through the non-traditional access point of psychic intuition. When we use clairvoyance, for instance, we are visualizing information. Visualization is the access point for this information.

Automatic Writing

Some people are writers. They enjoy expressing their thoughts through writing and it’s a nourishing way to express themselves. If you feel like you need to write or it’s a good way to organize your thoughts, automatic writing might be one of your talents. Automatic writing sometimes can be asking a question and then writing whatever comes to mind. Sometimes people feel as though they do not even include their mind in the process. They just write without thinking. Some people feel as though their hand while writing, takes its own instructions. Practice this style and see if it resonates with you.

Telepathy

You think of a friend and then all of a sudden that person calls you! I think we have all been in the situation that you think of someone and then they reach out to you in some way. This can be called telepathy. This method goes both ways. You can send a message to someone or you can receive messages from someone. I think this commonly happens with people who are energetically connected. Practice this with your friends and close family. Let them know that when they think of you, they should send a text message to you. It can just be a little emoji. This practice can build those skills or talents.

So many ways to be psychic!

There are many ways to be psychic. Think of what your other talents are and then consider how those skills can be adapted to an intuitive skill. Do you read a room really well? Maybe you are an empath and can read the emotions of others. Are you good at being in the right place at the right time? Then maybe you are receiving messages from soul guides. The ways you can be psychic are endless. Having good psychic hygiene liked we talked about in my previous blog can be seriously helpful. Being a messy psychic can make things hard for you and your friends. Having good boundaries about when you use your skills and talents is essential in my perspective. Apply your personal ethics to this skill set as well. Would you listen in on a private conversation, then maybe you shouldn’t seek information that is not yours to find. Asking permission to share sensitive information with them can be considered an ethical approach. Not everyone is ready to or interested in hearing insights from you.

Setting up good boundaries with your soul guide team can be helpful too. When I started doing psychic work I noticed that people expressed a fear that they would learn something that scared them or something that they didn’t want to know. So I have set up a barrier with my soul team that they will not share with me anything that my client does not want to know. Now the guides that I work with, may nudge you to ask the right question. For instance, I worked with someone that was asking about their work. They wanted to know if they should take a promotion that was offered to them. But the guides would only respond with “Wrong question.” It turns out, that a family member was navigating a medical issue. This person was not ready to know about this yet. The guides, finally, begrudgingly, answered some of their work questions. Later their family member had a health crisis that revealed the hidden information.

Practice, practice, practice.

Practice is the most important part of psychic intuitive development. The more we learn how to dial into the frequencies of information we are seeking the easier it becomes. I find that when I step away from psychic intuitive work for a period of time, it is not as easy as when I am consistently practicing. Sometimes when I am in flow, I hear the answer before the question is even asked! I recommend that you create a practice that allows you to connect to your psychic intuition every day.

One good practice is to pull an oracle or tarot card every day. You can pull this card in the morning and then reflect on the message and how you interpreted it in the morning and how you interpreted it in the evening once the day had passed. Meditating and dropping into sacred space with your spirit guides can help you understand the messages you are receiving. Journaling messages from your guides can also be helpful. I recommend you keep a journal next to your bed as its common to receive messages in the liminal space between sleep and wakening.

As you develop your psychic skills my biggest advice is also meditation. Understanding the difference between the busy mind and the message received from soul guides is easier done when you can consciously quiet your mind. Most people experience ‘monkey mind’ and have a constant dialogue running wild in our minds. Quieting this busyness can be difficult. It takes practice. I like to say that meditation is the practice of quieting the mind, meaning the mind is not quiet for most of my meditation. I spend the time in meditation, continuously quieting my mind. Over and over and over again.
