Why do I want to connect with my spirit guides?

Updated: Jul 15, 2022

Let's start with "what are spirit guides"? Spirit guides come in many forms. Sometimes they appear to be ancestors, sometimes they are human, sometimes they are other-than-human. We are all connected to a galley of guides. As a psychic medium, I can often see guides standing behind the person for whom I am doing a psychic reading. I often see a group of 6-12 beings. I don't necessarily think this is all of the persons' spirit guides but rather the group that showed up for this particular set of work we are about to embark upon.

In my experience, spirit guides help us find our way. They nudge us in the right direction, our soul's best direction. When we have developed a clear communication pathway with our guides we can ask for their assistance when life gets tricky. We can ask for healing, knowledge and many forms of assistance. Spirit guides are not going to make all of the hard times go away. We still have to do the work, but if we can be in flow with the universe, we might find some ease in that work.

One way to connect with your spirit guides is through a journey. A spiritual journey can feel like a guided meditation. Usually you would work with an experienced practitioner who skillfully creates a safe environment for you to explore another spiritual world. In that journey you can discover your guide's name and possibly their skill in helping you.
