We all need healers right now.

As a massage therapist of 30 years, an intuitive psychic and spiritual coach, right now, I need support. I have always received therapies from massage therapists, healers and acupuncturists as a bodyworker myself. I have ebbed and flowed in and out of receiving this work as time and money allowed. And right now, I am doubling my efforts on getting care. The world is volatile and for those of us that are sensitive and can feel the upheaval it’s been particularly hard.

Recently, I received healing bodywork from a colleague who truly transformed my body, mind, spirit. I went to see Elizabeth Hyer for a healing session and I am blown away. My nervous system has been screaming 'high alert' for weeks (months?) and I was doing all of my personal practices to lower my internal alarm. I teach psychic hygiene and I use these skills daily. Obviously, the world is on fire, and I have good reason to be feeling the ways I am feeling. And I wanted some outside help to bring my system back into homeostasis.
Beth really helped me accomplish that. My system still feels on 'high alert' but I have access to more calm, more ease and internal comfort. I feel less close to slipping into fawn or freeze nervous system responses. Which was my concern. I want to be present to participate in the new world that is being created as the old world crumbles under our feet.
A wise teacher told me once that many massage therapists do not receive regular massage. She talked about how much learning comes from receiving healing work. I took that to heart and for many years received I have massage as often as once a week. In my early years I traded massage with much more seasoned and adept practitioners. I often wondered why they would trade massage with me when I had such little experience. But I reveled in their wise guiding of my work and their training which made my work much more effective.

I feel compelled to mention my perspective on healers. I do not think that healers, heal you. I think that healers provide the time, space and facilitation for us to heal ourselves. I think working with a healer that can help you relax and slow down and that helps you allow the healing to occur. Also the word healing is weird one too. I also don’t think we need to heal, maybe using the word transformation is more helpful. I do want (and need) to transform my thinking, my state of being, and my mindset and I find that immensely more effective when I work with someone else to help me transform my-self.
As a spiritual teacher, I also feel its important to work with other teachers. We all need mentors to help us see around the corners, or to understand what is happening from an outside viewpoint. I receive regular astrology readings, intuitive training and insight development. These viewpoints help me transform my thinking and help me transcend my own hurdles. As astrology tells us this is just the beginning of a long five years of upheaval and transformation.
Take care of yourself. See the healers. Make regular appointments. Start now. It's always the right time to start caring for yourself.
