Meet Our Founder, Karin
About Karin
Intuitive, Psychic Medium, Ceremonialist & Teacher
Serving her community for over 25 years, Karin helps connect people, nature, and spirit. She specializes in communication with ancestors or beloveds who have passed, as a medium, to aid living beings in gaining clarity on the questions of life. Her offerings to individuals include sacred business mentoring, intuitive psychic readings, spiritual path coaching, and heart centered ceremonies.
Moonhill Mystery School grew from Karin’s decades of sacred work grounded in connection with the natural world, seasonal spiritual practices, and connection to the ancestors. Karin is in the process of creating the launch for the three year curriculum in Fall 2021.
Karin lives with her partner, teenage son, two cats, and chickens in the woods in Olympia. She works with people by phone, in person, and through virtual meetings.
Ecospychology
Ecopsychology is a therapeutic technique and ideology that treats people psychologically by bringing them spiritually closer to nature. A central premise is that while the mind is shaped by the modern world, its underlying structure was created in a natural non-human environment. Ecopsychology framing seeks to expand and remedy the emotional connection between humans and nature and promote sustainability. In MMS, ecopsychology frames the foundational organization of this mystery school.
Mysticism
Mysticism is popularly known as becoming one with God or the Absolute, but may refer to any kind of ecstasy or altered state of consciousness which is given a religious or spiritual meaning. It may also refer to the attainment of insight in ultimate or hidden truths, and to human transformation supported by various practices and experiences. In MMS, the term mysticism is used in place of Shamanism. The term Shamanism is problematic from an indigenous-honoring perspective. Mysticism includes spiritual technology such as visualization, meditation, journeying, psychic abilities, spontaneous healing, access to other-worlds, and enlightenment.
Social Justice
Social Justice is the view that everyone deserves equal access to wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. The world we are living in is not a just society, and this fact motivates MMS to examine aspects of social justice as it pertains to spiritual practices. MMS will also work to bring equity to class entrance fees by making classes available to people who are from historically underprivileged and underserved communities.
Nature Connection and Seasonal Practices
Seasonal Practices/Nature Connection are simple ways of awakening our innate, empathetic and natural connection to nature. They reconnect us to our fundamental rhythm and habitat. MMS uses nature connection as a primary technique to transform our ordinary thinking processes into the extraordinary. Through regular nature meditation practices within a location, MMS co-learners will develop a relationship with land, place and themselves.
